We have officially entered some of the hottest days of the year. It’s the middle of summer, and your pool is probably working overtime. These are the times where you have to pay extra attention to how you’re taking care of your pool. With all the people swimming in it, and the blazing heat shining down, it’s important to constantly test the water and maintain a clean area so you can continue to enjoy it.
The Manual Cleaning Option
During pool season, you want your area to be sparkling. To do this, it’s going to take some dirty work. One way to maintain the cleanliness is by vacuuming the pool and brushing the walls. A pool vacuum comes in many forms, but its goal is to slowly clean the water and limit the amount of chemical action needed. Your pool should have a consistent vacuum schedule. To reduce the dirty visual that may accumulate, you can get in the pool and manually brush or scrub the dark spots.
Use Your Pool Filter
It seems like an easy solution, but don’t be afraid to run your pool filter at an above average rate. While it may show up at a higher cost, the money will balance out with what you’re saving in additional chemical product. With the number of heavy thunderstorms that hit throughout the summer, you’ll need to make sure the filter is updated and functional. It’s also important to maintain a cleaning schedule for the filter. However, don’t leave it spotless, because that could decrease the effectiveness of the filtration system.
Be Aware Of The Water Level
During the summer season, your pool will experience a heavy amount of traffic. Whether it be from daily use, pool parties or storms, water will naturally be splashed out onto the surrounding area. In order to make sure the water levels are normal, make sure to keep a close eye when you skim the pool.
