Clean It Out
Make sure to check your outdoor spa on a daily basis for any visible debris that may have gotten into it. You want to remove any debris as soon as you come across it. Allowing things to break down into smaller pieces inside of your spa can result in clogging. The small pieces can travel into the lines of your hot tub and now you have a bigger problem to deal with.
Cover
If you invest in a cover for your outdoor spa, you won’t have to worry about checking for debris as much. You still want to clean out anything that gets into your hot tub after you are done using it. However, covering it up prevents any other debris from getting into your spa tub when you aren’t there. You should keep in mind that though this does significantly reduce maintenance, the cover itself will need replacing once you notice any tears or rips. To avoid this, it is best to replace your hot tub cover every couple of years. You can also clean your cover every so often with a spa cover clean to make it last longer.
Check The Water
When the water in your hot tub gets old, it will no longer be refreshing and relaxing. You want to change the water out of your outdoor spa every few weeks to ensure that it stays fresh. Make sure that you shut your hot tub off completely before you drain all of the water out of it. When you do drain the water, it is a good idea to give your outdoor spa a thorough cleaning. You should clean the interior, exterior, and change the filters. After this is done, you can refill the tub with fresh water and re-balance the chemicals so that it is good to use again.
